Romania – Concept
In 2018, at Bernburg, the Romanian partner – Ruhama Foundation– had the idea to develop the concept in a specific way, an inclusive children’s city called RAINBOW CITY for children with ages between 3 and 7. We had in mind we can use as volunteers an important part of the kindergartens teachers of Oradea. These teachers have good experience in working with little children and they were all involved in educational system at the moment. For developing the concept and the idea we were sure that we can have the support of the public administration of Sanmartin village – location, budget, logistic support.
Fine concept
At the beginning we knew we want to develop a concept for little children, so, detailed it will look like this:
- 7 little houses, every house will be coloured in a different colour – RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, BLUE, INDIGO, VIOLET. The houses are from the village of Sanmartin, they are not used anymore, but they can be recycled and we only need to clean them a little, cover them with self sticky foil. (photo 1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
- different activities every day and all the activities related to the colour of the house. (photo 8)
- daily programme from 9:00 am to 12:00 a.m. for 5 days (6 to 10 of May, 2019) (photo 9)
- 2 or 3 volunteers in each house (photo 10,11, 12, 13, 14)
- a small break every 40 minutes so children can go out of the house and move to another house. We knew that children get bored quickly and they need to move, so we thought it should be good for them to have a dance break together with the other children and with the volunteers) (photo 15, 16, 17, 18)
( photo 6) volunteers are sticking the houses in different colours using self sticky foil: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet
